M W Supply was started in January of 1992 by Mike Williams from his apartment with a $500 loan from his good friend Chad Blakeman, along with a phone and an old 286DX computer. The Company’s first client was Mr. Donnie Schaeffer of Midwest Block and Brick (who remains a customer today).
After distributing tie down straps and load bars to private fleets all over the country, it was discovered that the demand for custom cargo control applications was underserved. This culminated in the leasing of a small facility in Dallas along with the purchase of the first sewing machine to manufacture custom cargo nets and tie down straps. Private fleets liked the way MW Supply did business by guaranteeing quality and learning about the fleet’s industry whether it was foodservice, building materials or even garment transport. Over time this fact enabled MW Supply to become both a consultant on loading and securement methods as well as a trusted vendor for excellent cargo control and material handling tools.
In 2000 the company broke ground on a custom 22,500 square foot facility in Glen Rose, Texas. The Company has since added ten industrial sewing machines and boasts metal manufacturing capabilities for load bars, conveyor stands and other material handling tools. In 2006, in an effort to stave off advances from foreign markets on standard products, the Company partnered with a Chinese manufacturer to create a high quality brand for common sizes of tie down straps. This fact allowed us to provide a cheaper solution when clients demanded, while also continuing to offer the highest quality American made solutions as well.
Today MW Supply boasts a full line of cargo control, material handling and safety access solutions to our valued customers who have become our friends. We have also learned that necessity is the mother of invention and that if we don’t carry the tool you need, we will find it¡¦even if it means we send you to a better source.
From our humble beginnings in an apartment living on ramen noodles and hot dogs to our growing enterprise 20 years later, God has been the only constant through both good decisions and some really poor ones. We thank Him for his grace and love and we thank our customers for trusting us with their first order with our Company, which is why we still serve them now.
